In 1968 DAN YOUNG started studying Country music, until 1974. During all these years dedicated to American Country music he developed his own style which is a blend of traditional Country Music, Rock ‘n Roll, Blues and Gospel Music, performing on stage inspiredby stars like Hank Williams, Ray Price, Gorge jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny cash, Asleep at the Wheel, Bobby Bare, Del Reeves .
From 1974 till 1976, DAN YOUNG brought to Brazil the Rockabilly Style ( "rock + hillbilly", The fifties Rock ‘n Roll, blending country songs with blues - Elvis Presley, Carl perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran ) performing under the name of Dan Rockabilly with his Dan Rockabilly Band in concerts like the 1º Festival de Iacanga (Aguas Claras), the “ Semana do Rock em São Paulo ”, the concert “ HALLELUJAH” , “ ROCK CONCERTEZA festival ”, concerts in the Parque da Aclimação together with other stars and groups like Eduardo Araujo, Erasmo Carlos, Made In Brazil, Mona, Joelho de Porco, o Terço, Moto Perpétuo, Companhia Paulista de rock, and so on...
Among the big stars that have influenced his career are Elvis Presley, Johnny Rivers, Matt Monro, Dean Martin and Trini Lopez.
Since 1976 DAN YOUNG changed his artistic name from Dan Rockabilly to DAN YOUNG, using this name until now.
DAN YOUNG’ shows are made of a bunch of uptempo musics as Bluegrass, Country Rock and Rockabilly, romantic melodies to dance as ballads and also Country Blues to admire the sunset on the lone prairie.
DAN YOUNG transports us to sweet France “ Douce France, cher pays de mon enfance....”, for a revival of big hits such as « Et Maintenant », « Au Revoir », « L’important C’est La Rose », « Que C’est Triste Venise », « Tchin Tchin », « Ma Vie », « F comme Femme » , and so on.

After a lot of requests, since the eighties DAN YOUNG also sings the major hits of Italian music from the sixties and seventies, immortalized by Gianni Morandi, Sergio Endrigo, Nico Fidenco, Michele, Pino Donnagio, Domenico Modugno, Peppino di Capri, Luigi Tenco, Gino Paoli.
DAN YOUNG created and participated in such Country Bands in São Paulo city as "The Country Hearts", "Banda Santa Fé", "Dixie Band", “Cactus Band ” and at last but not least "DAN YOUNG & THE TENNESSEE PICKERS", band which made history in the Country Music world in Brazil.
DAN YOUNG made a lot of shows in night clubs in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, including the tours in other states of Brazil as Minas Gerais, Parana, Goiania-Goias (COCKNEY CLUB, Televisão Brasil Central), Rio Grande do Sul, and other states. In São Paulo DAN YOUNG performed at big clubs like CLYDE'S, CAFE MARAVILHA, TA MATETE, FREE WAY BAR, EPIKO'S, BLACKJACK, O PONTO, OBAR, LUZES BAR, INNSBRUCK, SHOW DAYS SALOON, OPUS 2004, BAR DORMENTE'S, ESPLANADA BOULEVARD, PHILADELPHIA, BASTIAN BAR, BIER AND COMPANY, CAIPIRODROMO (EMBU), PHAETON (TAUBATE) and others in São paulo inland. Big shows of Country Music also happened at big Associations as CLUBE ATLETICO PAULISTANO, CLUBE DE CAMPO SÃO PAULO, SÃO PAULO ATHLETIC CLUB ( British Club ), CLUBE IPÊ, CLUBE SIRIO, CLUBE DE CAMPO DO CASTELO, FIVE STARS TENNIS CLUB, CLUBE LITERARIO DE PINDAMONHANGABA, and so on.
DAN YOUNG participates also in big events as auctions of breeding horses ( Quarto de Milha, Mangalarga, Appaloosa ), Farming Fairs , Rodeos, Truck Drivers Fairs, motocross Championships ( campeonato Paulista - Campos de Jordão ), Bikers Big Meetings MEGACYCLE - Serra Negra, as well in business conventions and private parties.
DAN YOUNG produced, hosted and colaborated in radio shows such as BIG BEAT at Radio Gazeta AM with Carlos POP Gouveia, COUNTRY SUNDAY with Johnny Reb at Radio Transamerica FM, OS BONS TEMPOS VOLTARAM COM ELVIS PRESLEY at Radio Bragança Paulista, COUNTRY ROADS at Radio Gazeta FM, COUNTRY PIRA, with Mingo ( ex- Incriveis) ( running in 47 FM and AM radio stations - data base Dezembro 1991 ), using his huge records, cd's and tapes collection that he is preserving for more than 50 years.
DAN YOUNG also works in publicity composing and recording jingles and soundtracks for radio and television networks. One of his works got a great repercussion, the soundtrack for the international campaign of the well known brazilian soft drink GUARANA ANTARTICA .( 2 commercials - english, one of them awarded several times )
DAN YOUNG also writes columns in newspapers and magazines as PESQUISA BRASILEIRA DO DISCO , writing about Rock ‘n Roll, Country Music and Jazz , using his deep knowledge of music world, in the Carlos POP Gouvea’s column in the newspaper A FOLHA DE SAO PAULO about the roots and tendencies of Country Music that he learned so well. In 1992 DAN YOUNG used to write a column at the GAZETA DO BEXIGA about music and arts, events that happen in this part of the town where are concentrated nightclubs, theaters, clubs, restaurants, and so on.
Since may, 2007 DAN YOUNG joined the Brazilian singer Sena in the city of Aracaju , presenting his work in songwriting and shows of the real and tradicional country music of Brazil showing to the audience his own compositions and songs of Sérgio Reis, Almir Sater, Luiz Gonzaga, Geraldo Azevedo, Renato Teixeira, Rolando Boldrin. and so on.
In 2008 DAN YOUNG created a group DY4 and is having fun performing a repertoire based on the American Standards of the 50s, 60s and 70s sung by Johnny Rivers, Trini Lopez, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley as well as Country music Americana standards as sung by Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Ray Price,Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Ricky Skaggs, and so on.
In 2013 DAN YOUNG retired due to health issues but still records and composes at his own homestudio in Aracaju / Sergipe / Brazil where he lives till now.
